Counselling for Children, Young People and Adults

Online - Email - Text - School based

What is counselling?

Counselling offers a safe place for you to explore whatever is on your mind with respect, and without judgement or advice. I aim to provide a calm, confidential and creative space for you, in which we can work together towards your goals and help you reach a deeper level of understanding.

The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) have produced some helpful guidance around what to expect in counselling, and you can find that here:

What can I offer?

I am able to offer private therapy online, via the telephone or by text or email. There is no right or wrong choice, it is about what you feel will work best for you and your therapy. I am also able to offer in-person therapy for education settings in the Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire areas.

I can offer support around the following issues:

  • Grief and Loss, including pre-bereavement and complex grief
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Self-harm
  • Attachment issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Trauma and PTSD

Please get in touch to see if I can support your individual needs, or for signposting to services that may be able to help.

Online

Online therapy is a convenient way of meeting so we can see each other, without the barriers that some physical spaces can bring. Whilst remaining confidential, we will be able to work in a therapeutic setting to help you realize your goals.

Telephone

Telephone therapy can provide an excellent therapeutic space in an easy to access way, without any pressure on being seen by the therapist. If you feel telephone therapy is the right fit for you, it is again a confidential way of working with your material to help reach a deeper understanding of yourself.

Text and Email

Using text and email communication, we are able to work in a session messaging in real time to help gain clarity of thought.

Using secure Protonmail the session remains confidential. You will be guided if required to set up a Protonmail account ahead of the first session.

Schools/College

I can provide face-to-face, online or email counselling work on a contracted basis, from 1hr a week to full days during the academic year. I am also able to offer home visits or community based sessions conducting counselling, which may support your students who are under EBSA or TAC settings.

Please get in touch for more information about how I can support your individual students.

Experience

I have worked as a mental health lead in a secondary school since 2017, supporting young people with mental health, child protection and crisis intervention. Since becoming a qualified counsellor I have branched out to work in other schools with children and young people, as well as working as a sessional grief counsellor for a hospice, and as a private practitioner online.
